The work of the A&E Department

The emergency department assesses and treats people with major trauma, serious injuries and those in need of emergency treatment. It's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.

We want to understand the reasons people attend A&E. We have developed a survey that will help us understand why people attend, what support they need and whether people have used any of the other NHS services like GPs, NHS 111, Pharmacy, Community Healthcare before attending Accident and Emergency.
